Want to bike more? Make it a game.

I used to think riding a bike was just for exercise. Then I traveled to Denmark and saw people riding for everyday transportation. Biking offsets the high cost of gas and builds activity into their days. But their bikes were different. They had baskets or crates that could hold things. When my friend sold me a used set of bags (called “panniers”), all of a sudden I could haul my yoga gear to class and back in ten minutes instead of walking 25 each way. A light bulb went off, and I started wondering, what else could I use my bike for? I’ve been playing that game ever since.
